Naltrexone Cap 4.75–5 mg (30 caps)
Compounded Naltrexone HCl capsules — Low-Dose Naltrexone for pain & inflammation management. Prescription only.
Available only with a valid prescription. Reviewed by a pharmacist before compounding.
Naltrexone Capsules 4.75–5 mg are a compounded preparation of naltrexone hydrochloride in an oral capsule, supplied as a 30-capsule pack against a valid prescription. Naltrexone is a pure opioid receptor antagonist.
What is Low-Dose Naltrexone (LDN)?
At conventional doses naltrexone blocks opioid receptors for ~24 hours and is used for opioid and alcohol dependence. At low doses (typically 1.5–5 mg daily), naltrexone behaves very differently: it briefly blocks opioid receptors for a few hours, which the body answers with a rebound increase in endogenous endorphins and modulation of microglial cell activity and T-regulatory immune function. This has made compounded LDN a widely used off-label option for chronic pain and inflammation management.
Where LDN capsules are chosen
- Chronic pain & inflammation — fibromyalgia, complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), chronic regional musculoskeletal pain
- Autoimmune / immune-mediated conditions — Hashimoto's thyroiditis, rheumatoid arthritis, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, psoriasis, multiple sclerosis (as adjunct)
- Neuroinflammatory & central sensitisation states
- Gentle nighttime dosing with an up-titration schedule, individualised by the prescriber
Mechanism, briefly
LDN transiently antagonises opioid receptors → rebound endorphin upregulation + modulation of microglia / TLR4 signalling → reduced neuro-inflammation and central sensitisation, supporting more balanced pain perception and immune tone.
How to use
Take the prescribed dose once daily, usually at bedtime, in or with food. For LDN, prescribers commonly start low and up-titrate over weeks. Do not take in opioid-containing medicine unexpectedly. Always follow your prescriber's schedule and review plan.
