Home healthcare: what good looks like in the UAE
Home Care

Home healthcare delivers clinical services — nursing, medication administration, wound care, chronic disease monitoring, physiotherapy — in the patient's own home. The WHO frames integrated, people-centred home care as central to ageing well and managing chronic disease.

In the UAE, MoHAP regulates home care providers and licensed home-care nursing. Quality services share three traits: a clinical lead responsible for the care plan, documented licencing of every visiting professional, and clear handover when a patient is admitted to or discharged from hospital.

For pharmacy, that means reconciling medications at every transition, briefing carers on how and when to give each medicine, and storing temperature-sensitive drugs correctly. We work with home-care partners to keep that chain continuous, because continuity of care is where outcomes are won or lost.
